A dark galaxy is a hypothetical type of galaxy that contains dark matter with very few stars. These galaxies are very difficult to observe due to its dim light. A possible candidate of a dark galaxy is VIRGOHI21, a probable dark galaxy interacting with the spiral galaxy Messier 99.
