NGC 2022 is a multiple-shell planetary nebula located approximately 8,210 light-years away in the constellation, Orion (The hunter). It was discovered in December 28, 1785 by German astronomer William Herschel. As one of many planetary nebulae, NGC 2022 has a visible halo surrounding it.
